## Description

LAPDI Chapters manages real organization chapters from one WordPress dashboard.
Publish an accessible finder with `[lapdi_chapter_finder]`, list all 50 states and
Washington, DC, and direct visitors to the correct chapter website, contact page,
or chapter-specific join destination.

The plugin is part of the LAPDI WordPress plugin family but is completely standalone.
It does not require LAPDI Easy Dev, TSP Easy Dev, another LAPDI plugin, a specific
theme, or a page builder.

Features include:

 * Private chapter administration with structured addresses
 * Active, Coming Soon, and Inactive directory statuses
 * State and status administration filters
 * Accessible, responsive, server-rendered finder
 * Founding Chapter designation for the original chapter and primary operational
resource, with an accessible star marker
 * Configurable chapter leader title for the editor, directory list, finder, and
   REST API
 * Optional chapter leader photo with live 4:5 portrait preview, top/center/bottom
   framing, and photo-left finder layout
 * Distinct Join This Chapter, Visit Chapter Website, and Contact Chapter actions
   for Active chapters
 * Configurable Start a Chapter and Contact Us empty-state actions
 * Public read-only `/wp-json/lapdi-chapters/v1/chapters` endpoint
 * Safe-by-default data retention during deactivation and uninstall
 * Standard Let A Pro Do IT! plugin details, FAQ, rating, and support links

### Privacy

LAPDI Chapters stores chapter-directory information entered by site administrators,
including chapter names, leader names and photos, dates, addresses, and destination
URLs. Leader photos are stored as WordPress Media Library attachments. Published
Active and Coming Soon records expose their configured public directory fields through
the finder and REST API. The plugin does not set visitor cookies, track visitors,
send data to external services, or associate chapter records with WordPress user
accounts or email addresses.

Administrators can edit or delete chapter records. Deactivation preserves data.
Uninstall also preserves data unless an administrator explicitly enables destructive
uninstall under Chapter Settings first.

## Installation

 1. Upload the `lapdi-chapters` directory to `/wp-content/plugins/`.
 2. Activate LAPDI Chapters under Plugins.
 3. Add real records under Chapters.
 4. Create a page containing `[lapdi_chapter_finder]`.
 5. Configure the Chapter Leader Title and optional empty-state actions under Chapters
    > Settings.

## FAQ

### Does this require LAPDI Easy Dev?

No. LAPDI Chapters is a standalone member of the LAPDI plugin family.

### Are chapters deleted when I deactivate the plugin?

No. Deactivation always preserves all data. Uninstall preserves data unless an administrator
explicitly enables destructive uninstall under Chapter Settings first.

### Which records are public?

Only published chapters whose directory status is Active or Coming Soon. Inactive
and unpublished records are excluded from both the finder and REST API.
